In 2023–2024, New Amsterdam Jazz launched the Amsterdam-Basel Creative Collective with the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and JazzCampus Basel—an exchange program connecting two leading music institutions and their artistic cultures.
Led by Lionel Loueke (JazzCampus Basel) and Tineke Postma (Conservatorium van Amsterdam), the program brought together MA students and recent alumni (since 2018) to form a ten-member ensemble focused on composition and improvisation.
The Collective featured two exchange weeks—one in each city—offering rehearsals, performances, and recordings that fostered deep artistic collaboration.
